Agas-Agas Bridge Rope Jumping

Similar to bungee jumping, one jumps from a high structure tied to a rope set up in a way that the jumper goes on a free fall for a few seconds then goes into a pendulum swing.

  1. Hi Gerry. Great angles as usual. Is this a burst shot of one jump by several SLRs (i’ve noticed the zoom) or shots of several jumps at varying zoom/angles?

Brave guy/jumper. Must be dizzying at the point of “pendulum swing”. Really extreme.

    • Hi, Rommel. It’s a high speed continuous burst (6.3 fps) using only one DSLR, a Canon 50D w/ my favorite Canon EF70-200mm f/2.8L IS lens. There was only one jump that day. 😦

      • My…my…you’re fast on the draw … very sharp in composition. Nice body, top quality lens in the hands of the master. Hard to beat.

Thanks very much for sharing your photos.

      • Thanks! Some of the takes were cropped in post-processing; focus is soft, though 😦

  2. it’s a nice place. visit mahaplag, my hometown and sogod

  3. hi… i’m really interested to jump… it would be my first time but i’m really enthusiastic about it…

  4. hi! who do we get in touch with if we wanna do rope jumping in agas-agas bridge? we’re planning on visiting leyte this summer.

hope you can refer me to someone or any organization.

    thanks a lot!

    • Hi, Rhea. Sorry, but you got it wrong; there is no rope jumping or any other extreme sports activity at Agas-Agas Bridge. What you saw in the photos I posted here were those taken only during the bridge’s formal inauguration program – they were exhibition activities meant to showcase the potential of having extreme sports activities in the area. To my knowledge, no extreme sports facilities has been set up so far.

  5. Like the photos; and thanks for sharing.

  6. Hi! Is there an update if there will be bungee jumping available soon in the bridge? It would be my first try and I would really, really like to become one of the few people to bungee jump at our tallest bridge. Thanks in advance!
