Robotic Christmas

“Robotic Christmas” is this year’s Tacloban City government’s theme for the Christmas celebration in the city.

A rubber artist from Marikina was commissioned to do the over-all set-up of Christmas decorations in the city based on a “crystal robotic” theme.

Here’s the late night scene at the Balyuan area where the main attraction – a giant silver Christmas tree – has been erected with robots around it.

One Response to “Robotic Christmas”

  1. Uh, very interesting….Maybe I’m a little old-fashioned but I thought last year’s Christmas tree was much much better. Still, I wish I could visit Rizal plaza and just gaze at the current one…Maybe this silvery tree just takes getting used to…..On the other hand, I do miss some of the traditional Philippine memories from Christmases, past….Listening to the lantaka, playing Christmas carols on my bandurria. Being part of Mr. Fausto Cruzada’s Cultural Rondalla at DWU High School was one of the highlights of my teen years…Ah, recalling some of the cute achool girls I used to see at the DWU campus or on jeepney rides to and from PHHC…lol. And some of them are even on Face Book…Okay, maybe they don’t look like teenagers anymore…
