Palarong Pambansa 2009 website

The city is abuzz and seems to be bursting at the seams with the presence of thousands of participants, guests and visitors to the Palaro 2009 which starts this weekend.

To provide photos and updates on Palaro 2009, calle Zaragosa Productions is providing coverage on the various events lined up and has set up a dedicated website for this national meet.

Palarong Pambansa 2009, which the Provincial Government of Leyte under Gov. Carlos Jericho Petilla is hosting, opens this weekend with the Search for the Ginoong at Binibining Palaro.

The pre-pageant night or the talent competition is scheduled tomorrow, April 25 at 7:00PM at the Leyte National High School (LNHS) Gymnatorium. The pageant and coronation night will be held at the same venue on April 26, at 7:00PM.

Each region is entitled to one male candidate for the Ginoong Palaro 2009 and one female candidate for the Binibining Palaro 2009. There are 17 participating regions.

The contest categories are sports wear competition, regional costume competition, talent showdown, question and answer and sports participation portfolio. (PNA)
