The Jurong Bird Park, Singapore: A bird wonderland!

80907sind1w-9750I was going through my Lightroom photo library trying to survey my backlogs when I realized I haven’t touched much yet on photos taken during our recent trip to Singapore, particularly of THE birds.

So let me share with you glimpses of the world renown Jurong Bird Park – a great park for children and adults alike, guaranteed to give the best quality time for the whole family.

Jurong Bird Park in Jurong, Singapore is the largest aviary park in the Asia Pacific and has been claimed the best in the world. Its collection of more than 9,000 birds from 600 species is among the largest in the world. The 20.2 hectare open-concept park specializes in birds from Southeast Asia.

The Park has four aviaries, among which is the world’s largest walk-in aviary with the tallest man-made waterfalls. Regular bird shows, staged at the park’s amphitheater are highly entertaining and informative and have thrilled visitors from all over. One gets to enjoy close-up views of various free-flying and well-trained exotic birds.

The Bird Park’s exhibits and aviaries are specially designed to closely resemble the natural habitats of the birds collected coming from as far as Africa and South America.

The park’s open spaces are beautifully landscaped with exotic flowering plants and trees and a modern panorail system which goes around the park providing visitors with a quick break from the hustle and bustle of the urban lifestyle.

A great, quick nature-trip fix!

Taking in the sights alone was overwhelming; deciding which one to focus your camera on was much more daunting. Here are some of the photos I managed to snap…
