China terrain near Beijing

China is renowned for its rugged and mountainous terrain. In winter, some peaks near the capital city of Beijing are snow-capped.

Here’s the view from above as one approaches Beijing.

The lakes in photos above are frozen, the dark areas beginning to thaw as winter is about to end.
