Antique church bells

Got these photos of antique church bells. The first one below (taken June 09, 2007) shows the bells displayed at the Sto. Ñiño Church yard. The next ones were taken Aug 11, 2007 at the Surigaonon Heritage Center, a private museum in Surigao City where Jun Almeda, a Rotary Past District Governor (Dist-3860) showed us his bell treasure find.

I forget now where PDG Jun found this bell. What I remember was at the time he was telling us how he came to discover it and brought it to Surigao City, my mind wandered to the bells at Sto. Ñiño Church. I mentioned this to him and he said something on how interesting it could be to compare the bells. PDG Jun was once assigned as Regional Director of the Philippine Ports Authority in Region VIII (Eastern Visayas).

The bell at the Surigaonon Heritage Center, a private museum at the wharf area of Surigao City. Photo shows PDG Jun Almeda (right) with the Regional Directors of the Dept. of Tourism (DOT) of (from left) Region 13 (Caraga) and Region 5 (Bicol). Below, close up of PDG Jun’s bell showing early-Mexican/South American/Indian design. Sorry, am poor in anthropology/archaeology.
