Kinship

Maudlin sentimentality could be it but there’s no other explanation why it feels so GOOD to be with real friends after a long absence. Specially when the occasion is the celebration of one’s birthday.

It was Charmaine’s (aka Mae)  natal day the other day and it was an opportunity to touch base with her and everyone else close to her - from classmates in grade school to family relations. Mae, now based in a foreign land, decided to celebrate her birthday at her place of birth, with her close, close friends and relatives. Naturally, that spelled FUN.
